Fans loved Coyote Kisses’ “Sunny Day” for its delicate, ethereal sound. It was the perfect spring jam, filled with meandering melodies and a thick, funky bass line. Paperwater’s rendition, however, takes things to a deeper place. Known for their eclectic sound, the Miami-based duo gives the tune a more atmospheric quality, throwing in a lush, rolling rhythm and the faint sound of a Japanese shamisen to paint a dreamy and exotic picture. The result conjures images of a verdant and whimsical oasis, and captures the languorous attitude of a hot and hazy summer afternoon.
