Migos have continued their charmed run of releases with their latest “Bad and Boujee” quickly becoming ubiquitous on the airwaves, even spawning a litany of memes and cementing its cultural impact. As such, it’s no surprise that remixes of the smash have begun proliferating across the electronic music spectrum.
While it’s hard to parse the chaff from such a mass of remixes, Luca Lush’s take on Migos’ hit truly stands out. Ominous piano introduces the remix in before Lush wraps effervescent, futuristic synths around the original’s earworm hook. The remix really hits its own during its multiple drops, where Lush makes a concerted effort to switch things up, featuring sawing synth lines and rumbling horn blasts. That he is able to blend such disparate elements together so well is a testament to the producer’s prodigious skills.
