Police investigating 2 teenage deaths from T in the Park festival

Police are investigating the deaths of two 17 year old individuals following the first day of Scotland’s T in the Park festival. The separate deaths of a man and a woman are unexplained at present time.

“We are shocked and saddened by today’s news and our thoughts are with the families and friends at this time,” said festival Director Geoff Ellis. “We are offering our full support and assistance.”

The festival was also reportedly the site of a mass brawl shortly after gates opened Thursday. Police are currently investigating the event which was captured on cell phone footage and posted to social media. In the clip, a number of men are seen punching each other as horrified onlookers scream.

T in the Park is Scotland’s largest festival with headliners like Calvin Harris, Jamie XX, and Disclosure set to perform. This year’s event is poised to draw more than 80,000 attendees following a change of venue last year for capacity safety concerns.
